Nat Meets June - Various - Famous Jazz Singers Vol. 3 (CD)

Before he achieved his tremendous success as a ballad singer, Nat "King" Cole was already a great jazz pianist, with the effervescent swing of Earl Hines and the grace of Teddy trio that he led through the '40s was a unique musical group, a perfect forum for Cole's talents as both a swing pianist and a vocalist who could range comfortably from boppish instrumentals to 5/5(7).

I am put to the torture at work by some of their box sets: some of them have skips and cracks like you have from bad ripped or damaged Count: K.

  1.  · A variety of different singers (most from the swing era) are heard on this excellent collection. The music is enjoyable, if generally not all that essential, although Mildred Bailey's "I'm Nobody's Baby" (with its advanced Eddie Sauter arrangement and Roy Eldridge's futuristic trumpet solo), Billie Holiday's "All of Me," Woody Hermants "Caldonia" and "Nat Meets June" from Nat King Cole 6/10(1).

  2. CO Nat Meets June (NKC, JC-vcl) (SO-arr) Col -1 This take is neither a breakdown nor an alternate, but rather some brief conversation and playing which occurred after Note: Matrix is the rarer of the two takes issued on Columbia
